Privacy Policy
GoCouples ("GoCouples", "we", "us", or "our") is a private app for couples. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to this Policy.
GoCouples is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — your email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash; we never store your plain password).
- Profile information — optional details you add, such as your display name, pronouns, and a location label (e.g. your city).
- Relationship content — content you create in the app, including daily check-ins, mood and energy, reactions, answers to daily questions, important dates and countdowns, and notes.
- Messages and voice notes — text chat messages and audio voice notes you send to your partner.
- Photos ("snaps") — photos you capture or select, along with any captions, that you choose to share with your partner.
- Health information — if you use the cycle-tracking feature, the menstrual-cycle and related information you enter. This is sensitive personal information and is used only to provide the feature to you and your partner.
Information collected with your permission
- Camera — accessed when you take a snap. We do not access your camera in the background.
- Microphone — accessed when you record a voice note or use voice chat.
- Precise location — if you enable location sharing, your device location is shared with your partner so you can see each other's location. You can turn this off at any time in your device or app settings.
- Photo library — accessed only when you choose a photo to share.
Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data — such as device type, operating-system version, app version, and IP address, used to operate and secure the service.
- Push notification token — a token from Firebase Cloud Messaging used to deliver notifications to your device.
- Diagnostics and usage — basic crash and usage information that helps us fix bugs and improve the app. We do not sell this data.
3. How we use your information
- To provide the core features of the app and sync content between you and your paired partner.
- To create and secure your account and verify your email address.
- To send push notifications you have opted into (e.g. a new message, snap, or nudge).
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app and to prevent abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Sharing with your partner
GoCouples is built for two people. When you pair with a partner, the content you create for them — messages, voice notes, snaps, check-ins, important dates, shared location (if enabled), and other shared content — is visible to that partner. Cycle-tracking information is shared with your partner only to the extent the feature is designed to share it. Please only share what you are comfortable sharing. If you unpair or end the relationship in the app, new content stops syncing to that person.
5. Service providers
We use trusted third-party providers to run the app. They process data only on our behalf:
- Railway — backend application hosting and database.
- Cloudflare R2 — secure storage of photos and voice notes.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivery of push notifications.
- Resend — sending transactional and verification emails.
- PostHog — privacy-respecting product analytics (only if enabled).
- Sentry — crash and error reporting (only if enabled).
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain data to meet legal, security, or fraud-prevention obligations. Backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
7. Your rights and choices
- Access and update — you can view and edit your profile and content in the app.
- Delete your account — you can delete your account from within the app (Settings), which removes your personal data as described above.
- Permissions — you can revoke camera, microphone, location, and notification permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Regional rights — depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact team@aikazoo.com.
8. Security
We use technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond promptly to any incident.
9. International data transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
